For immigrant doctors, health care professionals, technicians, researchers, and other skilled technical support staff from India, America has an effective Indian Exclusion Act for legal permanent residence. It's not just wrong. It's economically harmful as well.

I refined my estimates of the effects of the Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act. It shows that those saying Indians will monopolize green cards for a decade are incorrect.

Since 1990, the US economy has doubled & population has grown by >30%. Yet the green card caps are the same, & many people waiting in line will definitely die first. We need a steadily growing number of green cards. h/t @David_J_Bier @CatoInstitute
