At least according to an analysis by Jeffrey Miron, @catoinstitute's director of economic studies and undergraduate director at @harvard's Department of Economics. Miron finds that that #drug legalization would allow both federal and state governments to reduce spending and save resources for other uses. Furthermore, tax revenue would be generated for public funds instead of going to illegal drug producers.

This is why sweeping #HealthcareReform is essential. Medicaid being authorized to pay $928 for a bag of saline costing $2 is just one example of the fraud we face. The ethical solution is de-corrupting our healthcare system, NOT figuring how to make everyone pay for it. #ORPOL
