Michael Vickers, a deputy sheriff in Coffee County, Georgia, shot a ten-year-old child lying on the ground, while repeatedly attempting to shoot a pet dog that wasn’t posing any threat. Without even deciding the constitutional question, a majority of the Eleventh Circuit panel granted his qualified immunity.

The slaughter of an American family (including four children) traveling on a road in northwest Mexico is an unfortunate reminder that, as long as the United States retains a policy of drug prohibition, violence will likely get worse, not better.

Harriet Tubman fought enormous injustice and promoted human liberty. She advocated genuine equality of opportunity, exhibited courage in fighting and breaking unjust laws, and took the lead in putting her views into action. Andrew Jackson has had a fine run on the $20 bill. It’s time to give someone else a chance.

There isn't any country that has embraced all the policies democratic socialists want, but Argentina comes closest-and the country has defaulted 7 times since its independence in 1816, seen the largest relative standard of living decline in the world since 1900, and is on the brink of political and economic chaos again.

When people think of drug smugglers, they often imagine illegal immigrants sneaking into the United States across the southwest border. But the reality is that the vast majority of drug smuggling occurs at ports of entry (including airports), and the vast majority of traffickers are U.S. citizens.
