Co-founder and former CEO of Whole Foods Market, John Mackey, was elected to the @catoinstitute board! Mackey is also part of the Students For Liberty board and, at LibertyCon International 2022, stated that “capitalism is the great economic engine that over the last 200 years has lifted millions of people out of economic poverty˜. Also, he talked about how reading economist Milton Friedman’s Capitalism and Freedom when he was younger, opened him to the idea that he might be a libertarian.
