In 2000, the Young Leaders Conference, sponsored by SwissRe and @flyswiss, was held for a second time in Zurich. SwissRe sponsored the Young Leaders Conference again in 2014, and will sponsor it again on the occasion of the 30th anniversary. The class of 2000 includes two members of the American Swiss Foundation’s Advisory Councils: Dr. Doug Sears, vice president and chief of staff to the president of Boston University, and member of ASF’s U.S. Advisory Council; and Dr. Patrick Raaflaub, Group Chief Risk Officer at Swiss Re, and member of ASF’s Swiss Advisory Council. The class also included The Honorable David G. Argall, member of the Pennsylvania State Senate (29th District); Doug Bandow, senior fellow at @catoinstitute; Dr. David Birdsell, Marxe Dean and Professor at Baruch College; Jörg Eggenberger, chairman of the Management Board at Schenker Schweiz AG; Walter Fuellemann, Head of Delegation to the EU, NATO, and Belgium for the @icrc; Dr. Peter Guggenbach, CEO of RUAG Space AB; Niger Innis, national spokesman for the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE); The Honorable Edward S. Jerse, former member of the Ohio House of Representatives (7th District); Severin Moser, CEO of Allianz Suisse; Dr. Suzanne Toma, CEO of the BKW Group; James Taranto, member of The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board; Dr. Chui L. Tsang, former president of Santa Monica College; and Ambassador Arno Wicki, Swiss Ambassador to the Republic of Chile.
