Supreme Court Update: #SCOTUS kicks off its new session today with a case that combines fashion, IP, free speech and a creative spellings of the f-word. In Iancu v. Brunetti, the high court will reconsider a law which prohibits the registration of “immoral” or “scandalous” trademarks. Here, Mr. Brunetti’s clothing line “FUCT” was rejected by the trademark office due to its proximity to the curse. But @fuct has had success the appellate level and Brunetti’s free speech argument has won it the support of @pacific_legal_foundation, @Cato institute and the @aclu_nationwide. Oral arguments will take place today and promise to be more colorful than normal. #supremecourt #UPDATE
